Introduction:
A Kammprofile gasket is a semi-metallic composite gasket featuring a solid, concentrically serrated metal core covered by soft, conformable sealing layers. It offers exceptional blowout resistance and reliability, making it the industry standard for extreme high-pressure and high-temperature environments across chemical and petrochemical processing.

The Kammprofile gasket consists of two primary components:
The Metal Core: A solid metal disc (typically carbon steel, stainless steel, or exotic alloys like Hastelloy) machined with concentric grooved serrations. This metal core provides structural strength and blowout resistance.
The Sealing Layer: Thin, soft facing materials such as flexible graphite, PTFE, or mica are bonded to both sides of the serrated core. Upon compression, these soft layers deform into the grooves, creating an exceptionally tight, virtual metal-to-metal seal.
Superior Tightness: The serrated profile concentrates the applied bolt load into the soft facing material, creating an extremely effective seal even at lower seating stresses. Flange Protection: The soft facing material fills minor flange imperfections and prevents the metal serrations from gouging or damaging the flange surfaces.
Product application:
Kammprofile gaskets are frequently used when superior leak prevention is required in demanding industries. Common use cases include:
Heat exchangers and high-pressure vessels
Nuclear and power generation facilities
Oil and gas pipelines
Chemical and petrochemical processing
